When searching the internet you will see many adverts that promise how easy it is to make money online. While this is partially true it is a lot more difficult than what the adverts make it out to be. The hardest part is when you start an internet business from scratch and for most people this is too much and they give up. Once your business is setup it does run on autopilot and can only take a few hours of work a week. It is very important to pick the right opportunity when you start otherwise you can waste a lot of time to get it right.

When you start it can be overwhelming. The most important part is choosing a niche. Using your unique angle on you chosen market will distinguish you from your competitors and allow your business to flourish. There is no point building another Amazon as they have already taken their market share where as say for example you build an online Harley motor spares store there is a much higher chance of succeeding as their is less competition.

Coming up with an original idea can be a difficult task and this is where most people struggle to create their specific niche. Keep an open mind and look around for ideas. You can look at the current trends in newspapers, malls, television and radio. You can also do a search on Google and look at other specific businesses which will help you to come up with your unique angle.

After you have done your research you need to decide which business model will suit you. This is a very important step. Get this wrong and you will spend months frustrating yourself with a home based business model that does not work.
