Concentrate on Content and Quality Links

It seems everyone these days is linking like there is no tomorrow, trying to stuff every nook and cranny of their website with carefully chosen keywords and spending much more effort than is necessary trying to find new ways to trick the search engines so that their website can appear near the top of the search results. This is all well and good. There is nothing wrong with that. Well, except maybe the trying to trick search engines. The latter is certainly not recommended.

Obviously if you are going to operate a successful website you must appear near the top of the search results and have links out there within forums, blogs and relevant websites. If no one ever finds your website then you will not be making any money. It really is that simply but I wonder if the craziness is a little out of control when you consider your long term goal of achieving a powerful website that generates regular traffic and revenue.

Google ® and the other search engines will be continually updating their strategies to stay one step ahead of the game in terms of their overall objective which is to provide quality content for their clients.

It has been said before but I will say it again. If you want to create a profitable website that has staying power and generates daily traffic and therefore revenue then all you need to do for your website promotion is concentrate on regularly updating your site with quality content and keyword articles while at the same time building a vast network of high quality linking partners with other sites that add value to your website. If you do this you will be successful in the long run no matter what changes the search engines make because there is no doubt that the primary goal of the search engines will always be to provide good quality relevant content for those searching the web.

Website Content, Keyword Articles & Blogs

Web Site Promotion using Keyword Articles and Blogs

There is nothing more effective in promoting your website than updating your website daily with high quality, original website content and keyword articles. Although you should have a multifaceted web site promotion strategy that includes reciprocal and non reciprocal linking, search engine optimization and pay per click advertising, posting keyword rich articles regularly to your website and blog will ensure that the search engine robots visit your site on a regular basis. In addition, with each posting you will be creating new pages and internal links resulting in a larger and more power website.

Even if you do not have time to post articles to your website daily almost anyone can find time to post articles to a blog. Blogs make it so easy to add content to the web fast. The best part about posting articles to blogs is that the pages become indexed very quickly allowing your pages and links to produce much faster results than simply posting to your website alone.

If you do not currently have a blog then by all means get one. What are you waiting for? Blogs are quickly becoming one of the most powerful marketing tools available on the internet. You can set up a blog in minutes by visiting www.blogger.com. If you do not have a website you can host your blog at Blogger but if you have your own website it is recommended that you host your blog at your own site so that you can benefit from the pages and links created each time you post new content to your blog. You can even add pay per click advertisements to your blog to create a source of additional income from your blog alone.

If you are serious about web site promotion and marketing your website using keyword rich articles and website content then a blog is your best bet for easy updating and fast results.

Choosing Reciprocal Links

Reciprocal links are web site links that are exchanged... you put yours on mine and I’ll put mine on yours. Reciprocal links are an effective way to get traffic to your web site, so you want to give considerable thought to where you will exchange links.

How do you decide where to exchange reciprocal links? Thinking about your product or service, consider the types of sites that would complement what you offer. These sites will be where you will want to exchange reciprocal links. If you sell lawn mowers, visitors to your site may be interested in lawn ornaments or gazebos or swimming pools. Search for lawn ornaments and see what comes up. Browse these sites, paying attention to the links on the page. Is the site overrun with links? Would your link be hidden in the clutter? If so, pass on that site.

You want your reciprocal link on sites that are neat, well laid out, and easy to navigate. Take time to see if the content is informative and readable. Do you feel that you want to stay awhile and see what’s there? If you do, so will others and they just might click on your link.

Look for testimonials from customers. If visitors feel that they can trust a site, they will place that same trust in linking sites. A reciprocal link to a site that doesn’t back up it’s promises will only hurt your business.

It takes time to find where you want to exchange reciprocal links. Do the research. Do not be afraid to contact big name sites; the most they can do is say no. Reciprocal links will help your site to grow. Use them.

Health Article

How to Read a Health Article

You have heard the phrase, Do not believe everything you read. It is especially true when reading a health article. Every body is built differently. No exercise, diet, drug, medical procedure, etc. espoused in a health article will have the same effect on every person. What cures my illness could make you sicker. What solves one ailment could very well cause another.

Fortunately there are several ways to evaluate the advice in a health article:

1) Who wrote the health article? A doctor, nurse, holistic practitioner, scientist, pharmaceutical company president, advertising copywriter, freelance journalist? What are their credentials?

2) What are their sources? Do they have any listed? Does the health article quote physicians or case studies? Are there endnotes? Is there any way to verify the information in this health article? Learn more about it?

3) How current is the information in the health article? Medical experts are constantly learning new things about our bodies. Yesterdays facts may be tomorrows myths. Anything revealed in an outdated health article could have dangerous side effects that were only later discovered.

4) What do the naysayers say? Before trying out something touted in a health article, find another health article that says itÕs a bad idea, and why. Then weigh the two sides as they apply strictly to you.

5) What does your doctor say? While it is fine to do your own research, the time will come when you must bring your doctor into the conversation. Do not make any decisions based on advice from a health article (including this one) without first consulting your doctor.

If you read every health article from now on with the following checklist at your side, you will be armed with one of the greatest assets you can bring to your wellness program Ð discernment.

Articles of Confederation

The Articles of Confederation - The predecessor to the US Constitution.

The Articles of Confederation, or Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, formed the constitutional agreement that was made between the 13 states of America in 1776. These states, created as a result of the revolution, needed unity between them and the Articles of Confederation were written to fulfil this need.

The states, still at war with England, were wary of a central government as they thought their individual needs would be ignored and they wanted to protect their independence. The Articles of Confederation bestowed the greatest share of power to the states, allowing them to retain their sovereignty, freedom and independence. The Articles of Confederation also denied Congress the power to enforce laws or collect taxes.

The Articles of Confederation were submitted to Congress on July 12 1776, 8 days after the Declaration of Independence was signed. However, due to disagreements between the states on matters such as equal representation in Congress and control over Western territories, the signing by all the states of the Articles of Confederation was delayed. Approval from the last state, Maryland, in 1781 finally made the Articles of Confederation the ruling document in America.

Although they provided stability during the revolution, the Articles of Confederation worked badly as an instrument of government. Congress could make decisions, but the Articles of Confederation gave them no power to enforce them. The Articles of Confederation also denied Congress governance over taxation. They were only permitted by the Articles of Confederation to request money from the states. When the states failed to conform to the requests, the Confederation was left short on funds to pay congressional debts.

After numerous proposals for revision, The Articles of Confederation were superseded by the US Constitution on May 23rd, 1788.

Using Newspaper Articles to Teach Children

Using a newspaper article as a teaching tool for children can be an effective way for them to learn about the world they live in. While looking through the weekly newspaper, involve children by reading a newspaper article that centers on their interests. When the newspaper article is finished, ask them about their opinions. Doing this opens a door of opportunity to talk to a child, to teach them about current events or to help them learn more about their interests.

A newspaper article is great for teaching a child about organization. Have your child pick out two or more newspaper articles and do a comparison between the two. Read the sections together and help the child pick out what features are the same or different. While looking through the newspaper sections ask the child what they like and dislike about how the sections are put together and what the child would do different.

When the newspaper article has been read and discussed, challenge the child to create a newspaper of their own. Encourage them to use as many elements from your newspaper as they can, include a newspaper article, comics, coupons, and advertisements. The child will have a good time creating their very own newspaper articles and you may be surprised at how much is learned from this time spent together.

These are a few examples of how a newspaper article can be a useful tool to teach children about many topics. Reading the newspaper articles and discussing them with children allows them the freedom to reach their own conclusions and opinions regarding important subjects. This is a vital skill in today’s world, children need the ability to form opinions on their own or have the opinions of others forced upon them.
